But my limited skill wasn't the only problem.
The system wasn't well developed in Nigeria then. No mentor. Nobody to look up to.
Even Linda Ikeji started blogging that same year. So she wasn't even popular then.
Her situation was even better. She was a graduate of the English language when she started.
Plus, she's got some exposure and life experiences.
Me? A fresh secondary school graduate who was still learning how to write a good article without spelling and grammatical errors.
So, my chances were slim.
The only people I saw in real life making money online were people who came to the cafe to do yahoo yahoo.
My upbringing and faith wouldn't allow me ever to consider that.
In fact, it was as if a part of myself used a cotton bud to block my ear from the inside when it comes to those kinds of things.
But I didn't give up.
I kept learning from what I could find on Google and kept doing lots of failed trials and errors.
Most of the things I saw were foreign Oyibo stuff.
I tried figuring out how to make it work in Nigeria.
After so many failed attempts, I took my skills and went to start looking for jobs abroad.
2. Working Abroad Without Aeroplanes✈
Thanks to Fiverr.com. I started earning in dollars. Then, I began to afford to hire mentors and buy expensive courses.
Then, my skills grew.
I was so successful at Fiverr that my clients took me away from the platform and started paying me directly.
